Stay On The Hill - The Coach House

I stayed in the Abbey Room at the The Coach House for 2 nights in November 2022. I am very late writing this review, and only just remembered to do so when clearing out my emails!! Places as good as this deserve to be reviewed. It was just beautiful inside and out. It was clean, well appointed, the addition of a small fridge was great, and the view of the gardens was lovely to wake up to of a morning. The housekeeping staff were so helpful, I had left my dirty runners outside and the next morning they were taken away an cleaned. While not in town, it was a wonderful location for exploring Hadrian's Wall and surrounds. If I travel to the area again I would not stay anywhere else.

James was really helpful and responsive to our needs in the build up. Self-check in was simple and straightforward. Huge, well-appointed rooms with comfortable beds in a lovely location, not far from Hadrian’s Wall. The food at the local pub, The Boatside Inn, was delicious!

We enjoyed our stay in the Hadrian Room. Beautiful location. Very comfortable room. So quiet. Ideally located for the Wall and wider Northumberland. Would be good to have a complimentary small fridge in the room.

We stayed for one night and found the Coach House easily. We stayed in the Hadrian Room, which was clean and comfortable, with a very comfy bed. The only small gripe was that the tea, coffee and milk could have done with refreshing, and the milk cartons were out of date. Overall though, it was a good stay and we would happily stay again

Absolutely beautiful room and location. I was shocked at how nice it was when I arrived. Didn't see any staff/owners during my visit but that's not an issue as I was able to get into the property with no issue and everything was great. The book provided in the room was incredibly thorough and had great recommendations of the local area. I would definitely visit again and plan to as it is in a great location for nature walks and attractions.

We had a lovely stay over Christmas while visiting family. The rooms were exceptionally comfortable. I particularly appreciated the lovely bathroom for Hadrian. The Boatside is a great place to eat, and we were very handy for our visits to Hexham. The surrounding countryside is stunning: I was delighted that my Australian niece caught a glimpse of a deer.

What a great place to stay. The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom and bathroom very spacious. They were very well decorated in li e with the period of the coach house. We ate at the boat side inn which is a short 5 minute drive away. I’d recommend this very nice accommodation to everyone. It is really that good and comparatively cheap

HIghly recommend this beautiful location. We stayed in the Tyne room, which was large, warm and comfortable. Tasteful decor, gorgeous bed linen, everything was perfect. Excellent service, good directions. Literally faultless. Sadly we were only there for one night but we would love to return and enjoy the local countryside as well as the delicious sounding food in the local pub. Thank you Emma and James.
